$85 Million Available for Pre-Apprenticeship Programs for Young People (YouthBuild) – if you are interested in applying, especially if this is your first time, we have an offer of help to coach and review your application, please email Jackie or Vonda. Applications are due August 6, 2019 and must be received no later than 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

Fahe Community Lending Services is rolling out a referral program for Members ONLY. Dwain shared this at our Spring Retreat – see HERE for details!

From ARC – ARC is currently seeking proposals to conduct research and provide guidance regarding public transportation in the Appalachian Region. This project will help ARC better understand the extent to which existing public transportation services are adequately creating or enhancing access in the Region, particularly in rural areas. Read the Request for Proposals, which are due on or before the close of business, July 12, 2019.

HAC has partnered with the National Endowment for the Arts to administer the Citizens Institute on Rural Design (CIRD). ) Request for Applications is live! It is now posted on the HAC website and will be open until July 22nd. 

The U.S. Department of Labor is making $29 million available via the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) initiative to implement innovative approaches to provide enhanced training and support for dislocated workers. Applications are due July 15, 2019 and must be received no later than 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Online Self-Guided Training from NWA – Fahe has purchased unlimited access to 22 training courses, registration (free of charge to Fahe Members). Notification will be sent next week, please watch for the email.  You can register through Sept. 30 and have 60 days in which to complete the course and tests.
